Get Parallel, Inc. (“Parallel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of our customers and users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit our website at getparallel.com (the “Site”) or use our cloud-based financial planning and analysis platform (the “Services”).
By accessing the Site or using the Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not access the Site or use the Services. This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Service, available at getparallel.com/terms-and-conditions.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and name. You authenticate via passwordless email login (magic link) or Google OAuth. We do not collect or store passwords.
Billing Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, we collect payment information (such as credit card details) through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not directly store your full payment card information on our servers.
Business Financial Data: You may upload or enter business financial data into the Services, including revenue figures, expense data, financial projections, budgets, and other financial metrics.
Employee and Headcount Data: You may input employee-related information, including names, compensation details, hire dates, and termination dates, for purposes of financial planning and headcount modeling.
Communications: When you contact us for support or other purposes, we collect the content of your communications, including email correspondence.
1.2 Information from Third-Party Integrations
When you connect third-party accounting software or other financial data sources (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar services) to the Services, we access and import data from those services as authorized by you. This data may include:
Chart of accounts, general ledger entries, and transaction records
Revenue, expense, and balance sheet data
Vendor and customer names associated with financial transactions
Payroll summaries (if included in your accounting data)
We access this data solely to provide the Services. Your connection to any Third-Party Integration is governed by that third party’s terms of service and privacy policy, and you are responsible for reviewing those terms.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Services, including features used, pages viewed, actions taken, timestamps, and session duration.
Device and Browser Information: We collect device type, operating system, browser type, screen resolution, and language preferences.
Log Data: Our servers automatically record information including your IP address, access times, referring URLs, and error logs.
Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies to operate the Site and Services, remember your preferences, and analyze usage. See Section 7 (Cookies) for details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To Provide the Services: Processing your financial data, generating reports and projections, powering AI-driven insights, and displaying dashboards and analytics.
To Process Payments: Charging subscription fees, managing billing, and communicating about payment-related matters.
To Operate and Improve: Maintaining, monitoring, and improving the performance, security, and functionality of the Services and Site.
To Communicate: Sending transactional emails (account verification, billing confirmations, service notifications), responding to support requests, and providing product updates.
To Ensure Security: Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues.
To Generate Aggregated Insights: Creating anonymized, aggregated data that does not identify you or any individual, which we may use for benchmarking, research, and product development.
To Comply with Law: Meeting legal obligations, responding to lawful requests, and enforcing our agreements.
3. AI Features and Your Data
The Services include AI-powered features that analyze your financial data to provide insights, recommendations, and projections. We want to be transparent about how these features work:
Inference Only: Our AI features process your data solely to generate outputs for your benefit during the current session or interaction. We do not use your data to train, fine-tune, or improve our AI models or any third-party AI models.
Third-Party AI Providers: We may use third-party AI service providers to power certain features. When we do, your data is transmitted to these providers solely for the purpose of generating a response and is subject to the provider’s data processing terms. We select providers that commit to not using customer input data for model training.
No Human Review: Your financial data processed through AI features is not reviewed by Parallel employees unless you explicitly request support assistance or unless required for security or abuse prevention.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
4.1 Service Providers (Sub-Processors)
We engage trusted third-party companies to perform services on our behalf. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only as necessary to provide services to us and in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy. Our key sub-processors include:

4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, in response to a valid legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
4.3 Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Site of any change in ownership or uses of your information.
4.4 With Your Consent
We may share your information with third parties when you have given us explicit consent to do so.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. After account termination or expiration:
Customer Data (financial data, employee data, integration data) is deleted within sixty (60) days, unless you request an export within thirty (30) days of termination per the Terms of Service.
Account information (email, name) may be retained for up to twelve (12) months for legal, tax, and audit purposes.
Billing records may be retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws.
Aggregated, anonymized data (which cannot identify you) may be retained indefinitely.
Usage logs and analytics data are retained for up to twenty-four (24) months and then deleted or anonymized.
6. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including:
Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
Access controls limiting employee access to customer data on a need-to-know basis
Regular security assessments and monitoring
Secure authentication via passwordless login and OAuth
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Services at your own risk.
If we become aware of a security breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
7.1 Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies: Required for the Services to function, including authentication and session management. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors interact with the Site and Services so we can improve them. These collect aggregated, anonymous usage data.
Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences to provide a more personalized experience.
7.2 Your Choices
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. Note that disabling essential cookies may impair the functionality of the Services.
We do not currently respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals, as there is no industry standard for compliance.
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Access and Portability
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you by contacting legal@getparallel.com. For Customer Data stored in the Services, you can export your data directly through the Services or by contacting us.
8.2 Correction
You may update your account information at any time through your account settings. For corrections to other personal information, contact us at legal@getparallel.com.
8.3 Deletion
You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting legal@getparallel.com. We will process your request in accordance with applicable law, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain information. Deleting your account will initiate the data retention and deletion process described in Section 5.
8.4 Marketing Communications
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Please note that you may not opt out of transactional or service-related communications (such as billing notices and security alerts).
8.5 State-Specific Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, or similar state laws), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. 9. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete such information promptly. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at legal@getparallel.com.
10. International Data Transfers
The Services are hosted and operated in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site and Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Parallel. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites or services you visit.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address associated with your account) or by posting a prominent notice on the Site or within the Services at least thirty (30) days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of any updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
